If you’re considering an RV vacation that would allow you to attend one of the annual festivals the West is known for, there’s no time like the present. Tickets are already being sold for many of these popular events, and campgrounds fill up quickly, which means that reserving early is important.
The 114th Annual Strawberry Days Festival will be held in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, on June 17, 18, and 19, 2011. Events include a hometown parade, live entertainment, a large arts festival, family fest, and free strawberries and ice cream. This festival would be the perfect compliment to your Pure Colorado trip.
The Calgary Stampede will be July 8-17, 2011 in Calgary, Alberta , Canada. Since 1912, the Calgary Stampede has been built on world-famous events that draw over a million people. Enjoy the famous chuckwagon and rodeo, midway and evening shows, free pancake breakfasts and live country music. This festival could easily be incorporated into the Banff and Jasper National Park trip.
If your Canadian vacation is targeted for the end of July, let us plan your Vancouver getaway to include the Celebration of Light. Over 1.5 million spectators pack the waterfront around English Bay each Wednesday and Saturday to view the choreographed fireworks competition. Judges score each participating country’s entry on synchronization, architecture, color, design, music, and length.
Cheyenne Frontier Days will be held in Laramie, Wyoming July 22-31, 2011, and is a lot more than world-class rodeo. Enjoy the Old West Museum, Western art show and reception, Fort D.A. Russell Days, carnival midway, Wild Horse Gulch, Grand Parades, Indian Village, Behind the Chutes Tour, free entertainment, pancake breakfast, and a chuckwagon cookoff. This event would be a good addition to your Mount Rushmore, Black Hills, and Devils Tower trip. Book early since camping in this region is extremely limited.
