  • 1-hour horseback ride – $127/Adult; $111/Child (Ages 8 to 11)

Children 2 and under are free if they ride on an adult’s lap in the wagon and share from their plate at dinner.

These activities run approximately from June 11th through the end of August only.

Grab the saddles and hitch up the wagon for an evening you won’t soon forget. You can ride out to Pleasant Valley on a horse or in a covered wagon. When you arrive you’ll find the cooks dishin’ up some real cowboy grub at the Old West Dinner Cookout.

The coffee’s brewin’ over the open campfire, and the wranglers love talkin’ your ears off over a strong cup o’ Joe! When they ring the dinner bell, you’ll line up for real western beef steaks cooked to order, signature Roosevelt Baked Beans, potato salad, coleslaw, cornbread muffins, and fruit crisp. (Vegetarian option available with advance notice). You’ll find your boots tappin’ to old western songs sung by a singin’ cowboy. You may have come here as a city slicker, but you’ll go back as a regular cowpoke! (Available June to August.)

The duration of this adventure is approximately 2.5 to 4 hours depending on your choice of horseback ride or wagon ride.

NOTE: Getting to and from this excursion’s remote location from your campground involves driving your RV for a 1-2 hour journey, each way, along the narrow, winding — and very scenic — Grand Loop Rd. You may not arrive back at your campsite until after 10:00 PM, but most people think it’s worth the effort.

Requirements for horseback ride:

  • Min Age 8
  • Max Weight 240 lbs
