Overview

Mountains! Lakes! Glaciers! Wildlife! Glacier National Park offers beautiful and expansive landscapes as well as unlimited hiking opportunities. Visit the different areas of the park to see a variety of animals, features, and ecosystems. Attend Ranger Programs to learn about the park. Take a tour (in a historic Red Jammer Bus or in a modern vehicle with a Blackfeet Cultural Guide). Enjoy a horseback ride, raft trip, or boat tour while here, and see the glaciers before they disappear! An addition of two nights at Waterton Lakes National Park gives you the chance to explore the Canadian side of the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park. Experience the mountains, wildlife, and lakes of the area through hikes, boat tours, and scenic drives.

Many Glacier Boat Tour

Come see the glaciers in this magical valley from the seats of two historic wooden boats — Chief Two Guns on Swiftcurrent Lake and Morning Eagle on Lake Josephine.

Enjoy both lakes via a small hike linking the two boats in this two-part tour. The tour begins on the shores of Swiftcurrent Lake, below the expansive Many Glacier Hotel. Take the Chief Two Guns across Swiftcurrent Lake, dock, disembark, and walk 0.2 miles over a steep hill to the shores of Lake Josephine and board Morning Eagle.

Cruise to the head of Lake Josephine where you can disembark and go on a hike to Grinnell Lake or Grinnell Glacier before returning back across both lakes to Many Glacier Hotel. Including the 1.5 hour boat tour, time required is 3 to 4 hours to the lake, longer to the Glacier.
