RV Trips To Take In The Fall
The shoulder season not only brings fall foliage, sweaters and flannels, bonfires, and crisp mornings; but more affordable RV travel adventures.
Fall is the ideal time to visit all five of Utah’s national parks and check the “Mighty 5” off your bucket list. Hike Angel’s Landing for sweeping views of colorful leaves against the red sandstone cliffs of Zion Canyon. Smaller crowds and less saturated sunlight make fall our favorite time to visit Zion. Fall stargazing is by far the best at Arches National Park, where just a pair of binoculars may reveal the rings of Saturn. A cruise through Monument Valley is much easier in the fall, with stable weather and light traffic.
Yosemite offers some of the best hiking and rock climbing in the fall, with shades of red and yellow from its big leaf maples and black oaks.
On the California Coast, you will find clear skies and Lake Tahoe‘s clear blue water in the autumn months. Hit the mountain bike trails in Tahoe National Forest and the Lake Tahoe Basin or enjoy the South Lake Tahoe Food and Wine Festival, which returns each October.
Blue Whales have been spotted along the Big Sur in fall. And during October, hundreds of monarch butterflies flock to Andrew Molera State Park during their annual winter migration.
Once the weather turns crisp, we love nothing more than hitting the road in a cozy RV!
