Pikes Peak Cog Railway

Ride the historic Cog up to Pikes Peak Summit, enjoy views of the Collegiate and Sangre de Cristo mountain ranges, the Continental Divide, the mining town of Cripple Creek, and on a clear day, the skyscrapers of Denver. You may catch sight of some of the local wildlife: bighorn sheep, elk, deer, yellow-bellied marmot, moose, and maybe a bear or mountain lion. The journey to the summit takes just over an hour. Along the way, your conductor will tell stories of historical points and significant people who shaped the region, point out wildlife, and make sure you see all the landmarks. At the summit, the Visitor Center provides unobstructed views from every angle and interpretive exhibits telling the story of the region’s history. Journey back down from an elevation of  14,115 feet to complete this unique rail journey that people have been taking since 1891. The round trip is approximately 3 hours.
