About Los Angeles
It’s huge and it’s full of traffic but there’s no escaping the glamour of the City of Angels! This popular starting and ending point for many California road trips deserves at least several days of your family’s vacation, and whether you decide to tackle it at the beginning or the end, that choice is yours!
If you’ve never been to Los Angeles before it’s difficult to conceive just how large and busy this city is. After all, LA is the second largest city in the country and has over 17 million people in the Metro area. What this means is that it’s going to take you much longer than you might anticipate to get from one attraction to another. Our best advice is to choose a couple of different bases depending on what you want to see and do.
For example, Disneyland is one of the city’s top attractions, but being located in Anaheim it’s not exactly convenient if you’re staying in the Hollywood area. Choose to stay in Anaheim for a night or two and make the most of Mickey and friends before heading north a little way and staying in the Hollywood area. Here you can visit the popular Universal Studios, or for more theme park family fun there is also Six Flags Magic Mountain nearby. Grauman’s Chinese Theater, the Walk of Fame and Hollywood Boulevard, and of course that rather well known sign that’s up in the Hollywood Hills are just a few more of the places you might like to visit.
Just let us know what appeals to you and we can make suggestions and all the arrangements for you, allowing you and your family to have a fun-filled, and most importantly enjoyable vacation!
Remember also that Los Angeles is a great starting point for Southern California road trips, and although you can make it up to the national parks of Yosemite and Sequoia from here you are going to be doing a lot of traveling. One of the top questions we get asked is ‘can we make it to Yellowstone from here?’ to which we reply ‘not unless you’ve got a few weeks!’
