Rocky Mountain National Park RV Vacation

About Rocky Mountain National Park

Located in the middle of northern Colorado, Rocky Mountain was the United States’ ninth national park, and the state’s second, established in 1915.

The park offers 415 sq miles of rugged beauty, with mountains, lakes, hiking trails, scenic drives, and an abundance of wildlife. You may see elk, bighorn sheep, moose, marmots, pika, and many other creatures who call this park home.

Visit the Bear Lake Road corridor, one of the most popular areas of the park, with the largest number of trails. This road winds and climbs to 9,475 feet above sea level, and is the gateway to incredible scenic views and a wide variety of hiking trails. Explore pine forest, aspen groves, scenic waterfalls, and the the multiple beautiful alpine lakes in this area.

Drive America’s highest continuous paved road, Trail Ridge Road, and experience 48 miles of pristine views. You’ll reach an elevation of 12,183 feet at its highest point, and most of the road is above treeline, earning the route the nickname “Roof of the Rockies.” Stop at the Alpine Visitor Center – the highest elevation visitor center in the National Park System, enjoy the alpine wildflowers, views of the alpine tundra, and beautiful vistas of the surrounding mountains.

Whether you’re exploring on foot, from the RV, or from atop a horse (we can arrange a horseback ride for you) the park offers almost endless possibilities for adventure.
