The Sunwapta River eases you into the world of whitewater rafting with a 10-15 minute section of Class I and Class II water. After that, Class III awaits! Once the rapids start, they just build and build until “The Whopper” soaks everyone just before the take-out! The Sunwapta River (the Stoney Indian name for “turbulent water”) raft trip is 90 minutes of the best whitewater in Jasper, incredible scenery, and abundant wildlife.  All equipment is provided (neoprene wetsuits, neoprene boots, splash jackets, and life jackets) and all trips are in 6-person guided rafts.

Depending on river levels at the start and the end of the season, this excursion may not be available in June or from mid-August. River levels vary year to year – our supplier may offer an alternative if this affects your travel dates.
