Choose one of several spectacular tours of Hearst Castle from Suites to Grand Rooms to Kitchens!
UPPER SUITES TOUR: View guest quarters and Mr. Hearst’s private floor as you climb high up inside the castle. Visit the Main Library, the repository for many of Mr. Hearst’s fabulous 2000 year old Greek pots. See where “the Chief” held meetings with his newspaper staff, and absorb the splendor of the art in Mr. Hearst’s bedroom. Explore many different guest suites, including some that were designed to fit in spaces originally not intended to be rooms. Stroll the grounds at your leisure at the conclusion of your guided tour inside the castle.
GRAND ROOMS TOUR: View the magnificent ground floor rooms of Casa Grande (big house) where Mr. Hearst’s guests met their host and were entertained during their stay at La Cuesta Encantada (the Enchanted Hill). See the Assembly Room, where guests met for cocktails, the Refectory, where meals were served, the Morning Room, Billiard Room and Theater. Your knowledgeable Guide will share stories about Mr. Hearst and his many guests who visited for nearly 3 decades in the early part of the last century. Stroll the grounds at your leisure at the conclusion of your guided tour inside the castle. Strollers are not allowed on the tour. Infants must be carried or in a backpack.
COTTAGES AND KITCHENS TOUR: Tour highlights include the Wine Cellar, and House B (Casa del Monte), the coziest of the three guest cottages. Another leisurely walk brings you to House A (Casa del Mar), where Mr. Hearst stayed until his suite of rooms in the castle were completed. This tour concludes with the Neptune Pool, Roman Pool, and modern kitchen, complete with oversize appliances and some of the earliest Frigidaire refrigerators manufactured. Stroll the grounds at your leisure at the conclusion of your guided tour.
