About Lake Tahoe
With its elevated position high in the Sierra Nevada Mountains many people know of Lake Tahoe for the excellent skiing found here, but beautiful Lake Tahoe is a year round vacation destination, offering something to visitors during each season of the year, including an abundance of summer fun!
Lake Tahoe is shared by both California and Nevada, however it’s the California side that offers the more natural areas and the big, scenic mountains, so you’ll probably want to spend more of your family vacation on this side. For some adult fun you can always cross over into Nevada and enjoy one of the many casinos in the nearby city of Reno, though this probably isn’t a great idea if traveling with children!
The lake is a wonderful place to relax, sit back, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and admire the amazing scenery that surrounds you; then when the time comes get out on the lake and get active! There’s so much to do here and we can set you up for numerous tours and activities that will help you make the most of your stay.
Enjoying the pristine waters by kayak is one of the top attractions, or let someone else do the hard work and sit back on a Lake Tahoe Boat Cruise! Off the water there’s plenty more to do too; great hiking opportunities can be found around the lake and in the designated state parks, such as Bliss State Park, and Emerald Bay State Park. A full day of mountain biking will give you and your family fantastic lake views, or try an exciting day of rock climbing; we can arrange all this and more!
